Hugh Armstrong Robinson: The Story of Flying Lucky 13, by Billie Holladay Skelley, Illustrated by Rachel Bowman (Goldminds Publishing – Imprint of Amphorae Publishing)
Judge’s Review:
Hugh Armstrong Robinson: The Story of Flying Lucky 13 is a fascinating story of one of the earliest pioneers in the field of aviation. The semi-biographical work will engross the young reader in its action-packed history from the subject’s early days as a daredevil, to his participation in flying competitions, and onto his career as a pilot and engineer. His career highlights include being the inventor of a mechanism for planes to be used on battleships; becoming a consultant to both government and several aircraft companies, and even working as an author in addition to editing “The Curtiss Book of Aviation” in 1912. A glossary and fact section complete the book.
